WHAT THE HECK IS Xenoglossy?

Xenoglossy is the ability to speak a language that is, under normal consciousness, unfamiliar. Xenoglossy can happen when undergoing a past life regression. It does not happen very often, but it is very cool when it does.

This morning I am trying to remove all traces of those pesky passive tense verbs. I am working on Chapter “Oogiwah” for my book Life is Just another Class – One Soul’s Journey through Past Life Regression now. As you can tell, I skip around when I am working on my book. (It keeps life interesting.)

You can remember a past life via a variety of avenues, but they all have something in common – a relaxed, focused-concentration state of mind. Meditation, self-hypnosis, dreams and aided hypnosis are the usual ways you can re-experience a past life. For me, aided hypnosis offered the most in-depth avenue towards an encounter with my past. (Thank you, Jamie.) Often aided hypnosis is referred to as a past life regression.

When I say in-depth, I mean it literally AND figuratively. By being totally immersed in a past life you can sometimes remember even the most minuscule details of a day in your past life. A few times I remembered a lifetime so well, I knew some of the words of the language. I was a woman who lived in the bush (loincloth included). I knew immediately that I lived in Oo-dung (my phonetic pronunciation) and that my name was Oogiwah. I came out of that regression saying, “What kind of name is that!?” The cool part was that I also remembered the name we called the lioness in their language: pronounced Oojew or Ujew. The problem with most of these words is that I can only spell them phonetically.

Google translation does not have the means to help me with this Cambodian language … yet. I also found (in a quick search today) that Oo-dung is actually spelled Udong or Oudong. And, low and behold, it was the capital city in Cambodia before it became known as Phnom Penh.

I never heard of Oudong until the day I remembered Oogiwah.

I recall the regression. I am resting on the couch with my eyes closed. I hear Jamie asking me to spell these names to her so she can write them down. Jamie was incredulous when I said the names. She said, “What? Are you sure?” several times. It seemed like a ten-minute conversation.

But, it was all very clear to me.

Did you ever have a foreign word pop into your head – seemingly out of the blue?
